A Message from our President

Dear Neighbors and Association Members,

Winter has finally retreated, making way Spring. This change in the seasons brings with it a renewed energy and enthusiasm for working together to better our neighborhood. It's a time for growth and for setting our sights on a bright future. Your active participation in our volunteer community organization plays a fundamental role in our collective success, and we are truly grateful for your ongoing support.

If you haven't already paid your annual dues, we kindly urge you to do so. These contributions are vital to funding the initiatives that have a direct impact on our community's well-being and progress. We would also love to see more of you at our monthly meetings, where you can engage with neighbors and learn about the various ways you can contribute. Whether you're interested in joining a Committee or lending a helping hand at events, your involvement is always welcome.

With the aim of inspiring more neighbors to get involved, the Membership Committee, along with our dedicated Block Captains, is actively working to promote our Community Association by going door to door. This outreach effort is both to recruit new members who share our vision for a thriving neighborhood, and collect annual dues.

The Safety/Zoning Committee has been instrumental in fostering a strong relationship with the DeKalb County Police. By attending Coffee with a Cop meetings and Community Engagement Zoom Meetings, we are ensuring that our local concerns get attention. We invite you to join these activities, details of which can be found on our Events/Activities page of our website. Recently, a small group of us attended the DeKalb Municipal Court to hear a case concerning code violations related to "pad/splits or rooming houses." Although the case was carried over due to absentee defendants, our presence showed our commitment to upholding neighborhood standards.

We are thrilled to announce that our Beautification Committee has started work on the outdoor classroom at Rowland Elementary School. Thanks to the generosity of The Dirt Guy on Redan Rd., we've received some great supplies. We are working with the PTA and Home Depot to secure additional materials and labor. However, we would greatly appreciate more neighbors joining us in these efforts to create an appealing learning environment for the students.

Lastly, our Hospitality Committee is brimming with exciting ideas and will soon start planning enjoyable events for everyone. These gatherings are a fantastic opportunity to strengthen community bonds and celebrate our shared goals.

Thank you for your support and for being a part of this journey. Let's embrace this season of growth together by fostering a vibrant, welcoming, and successful neighborhood.

Sincerely,

Lisa Rissmiller, President
